Animal Refuge Kansai

This is something i think is important,
ARK is a non-profit group which takes care of and shelters
stray dogs and other animals.

This is clearly a big problem in Japan, and alot of animals are abused
or have miserable living standards.
So i'm happy there's a group like ARK which cares for these animals.

From what i understood, the law for animals in Japan are quite weak,
and are more to protect the humans than the animals who are neglected or abused.

I also read on their homepage some horror stories, for example the petshops who keep animals caged, and when they can not be sold and grow too old, they're sent somewhere to be gased to death. These Petshops are apparently run by the yakuza.

I wish ARK good luck and send out a thank you for doing this,
It's a good thing they are doing.

I've added their homepage to my links here on the blog, so check it out if you want to know more. They have no shelter in Tokyo, you can foster dogs from Tokyo though, but there is a shelter in Osaka where you can do volunteer work or take dogs into shelter if you are able to.

Yuiji-kuns Birthday Party

This weekend i went to my Indonesian friends birthday party in Minovabashi, Tokyo.
He came here last year and frequented a bar, and got to know the owner, so we were able to
attend the party at his bar.

Yuiji-kun (my indonesian friends nickname) cooked an indonesian dish called "nashigorang",
It was interesting for me, as it was the first time i ever ate indonesian food !

Our landlord also showed up with 2 cakes, it brought some memories as it's been a long time since i was able to go out drinking with him.

All in all i had a good time, though i might've drank a tad too much =)
